Cookie policy

Last updated: [date of publication]

Short version: this website sets no cookies. There is no banner to dismiss because there is nothing to consent to. This page explains what that means and what would change if we ever added any.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store, so it can recognise your browser on a later visit. The same rules apply to other storage a site can use — local storage, session storage, tracking pixels, browser fingerprinting. What matters legally is not the technology but whether it reads or writes something on your device.

What this website does

It sets no cookies at all. No analytics, no advertising pixels, no third-party tracking scripts, no social media embeds, no fonts loaded from someone else's server. Nothing is written to your device and nothing is read from it.

That is a deliberate choice, and it is why you are not being asked to accept anything. A cookie banner on a site with no cookies would be theatre.

You can check this yourself. Open your browser's developer tools, go to the Storage or Application tab, and look at the cookies for this domain. It should be empty.

What still gets recorded

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — IP address, date and time, the page requested and the browser's user-agent string. That is how web servers work everywhere, and it happens before any cookie question arises. It is covered in section 2 of our privacy policy, under our legitimate interest in keeping the site running and secure. Those logs are not used to identify visitors and are not combined with anything else.

Every funding call we list links to the official publication on someone else's website — the European Commission, a national agency, a regional authority. Those sites set their own cookies and we have no control over them. Once you follow one of our links, that site's cookie policy applies, not this one.

If this changes

If we ever add anything that stores or reads data on your device — analytics, a chat widget, an embedded video — we will:

  • ask for your consent before setting anything that is not strictly necessary, through a banner where refusing is as easy as accepting;
  • update this page with what each cookie does, who sets it and how long it lasts;
  • change the date at the top.

Strictly necessary cookies — the kind that make a login or a shopping basket work — do not need consent. We do not use any today, and if we did we would list them here anyway.

Controlling cookies yourself

Regardless of what any site does, your browser lets you block or delete cookies, and browse in a private window that discards them when you close it. The settings live under Privacy in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge. Blocking cookies breaks some websites; it will not break this one.
